Well, its been a while since I last blogged.. It has been a good few months settling into University life. Its a great place here, loving the course and the people. Enjoying the freedom that University offers. As with all courses though it has its ups and downs but I am learning C++ which is great because of the freedom it offers, but it is so unlike all the other languages I have done before really and it requires you to really manage low level tasks yourself a lot more, which is great in some respects but not always in others.

Back in November I passed the 2 year mark with Nat, was a great night and was back in London.. Went to watch Avenue Q again, well again for me, first time for her. I must say I haven’t been to many musicals but I do really love Avenue Q, recommended if you are in London and have a spare £30.

Christmas and New Years were great was down in London, met up briefly last week with a few old mates from my primary school which was pretty interesting.

As for OSS Projects, I am working silently on something for OpenDocumentPHP, but don’t tell Norman. I am currently heading the Programming Team for the NTU CompSoc, but currently there is minimal effort from me and not much interest, however I am hoping to host a series of talks on Linux soon, hopefully with assistance from NLUG.

Well, it just seems like yesterday I was messing around with OpenID, yet it was in fact two months ago. I mean since the time of that article I have left school, started work, got into university and finally turned 18! So lets take each in turn.

Back on, I think the 22nd of June I finally left Syon, was a rather sad day as I had been there for 7 years and I think I really am going to miss the people that made my time there so great. (I would especially like to thank TBI for getting me through, without her I wouldn’t have even made it to 6th form.) It was weird going out with everyone to celebrate finally leaving but in a way I was glad as it finally meant I am moving on, moving to what I have always wanted to do.

Leads on quite nicely to work, I am currently working for Zoomf.com, I am currently helping expand there inventory of property and also doing a fair bit of design work. Its a nice little place and if your looking for property in the UK there is no finer place to go.

Next I guess is the fact that I am now 18, legal to drink, vote and party! Had a nice quiet birthday with a few close friends, which I was great.

Now, on Thursday was the day most people have been dreading for years. Strangely enough I felt, kind of spaced out, not really too fussed or scared, I dunno if I knew I would be all right or not, but it turns out I was. I didn’t quite get the best grades ever, but I did enough to get me to NTU doing Computer Science, which is what I have always wanted to do.

Strange to think that in a month and 10 days I won’t be living in Osterley anymore, I will be a full time student in Nottingham, I don’t quite know how I will take the change..
